Joshua Askew. Under-Secretary General for Business
Being an English city, Oxford is home to many different coffee shops (80 to be exact). So much so that it becomes very hard to choose where to get your daily fix of caffeine. To help you in this difficult task, I will list below just 3 of my favourites:
Knoops
First place would have to be Knoops; it is an absolutely amazing store that sells all kinds of chocolatey drinks (including both milkshakes and mochas). You can choose the strength of chocolate, all the way from 28% to 100% (my personal favourite is the 28%). Though it tends to be a bit pricier than a traditional coffee, I think the delicious drinks make it well worth the splurge. I would highly recommend trying it out.
Vaults and Garden Café
Located opposite the Radcliffe Camera, the Vaults and Garden Café offers some of the most quintessentially Oxford views you can get. With a large range of food and drink options, there should be something for everyone. I especially recommend enjoying your meal or drink in the café's garden, where you can soak in the stunning Oxford views, hopefully with some sunshine too!
Queen’s Lane Coffee House
Conveniently located opposite Examination Schools, Queen’s Lane Coffee House is a great choice to grab a quick coffee in between lectures (or MUN conference sessions!). At 350 years old, it (disputedly) claims to be the oldest coffee house in Europe. The Grand Café, located opposite, also claims to be the oldest coffee house in England. Either way, it’s a spot steeped in history and a great place to experience Oxford’s coffee scene.
