Concerns or Queries at OxfordMUN 2024, where to go?

The Secretariat is super excited to be welcoming you to OxfordMUN 2024 home conference in just one week! Of course while we are hoping everyone is looking forward to coming to Oxford, you may also have queries or concerns, so we hope this blog post about some common questions you might have.

I have an ROP question

Ask you chairs! They are a fantastic, highly trained team of MUN enthusiasts who would be happy to answer and explain any ROP queries you have. You can always ask an ROP question during committee by raising a ‘Point of Parliamentary Inquiry’, but you can also ask your chairs before or after any committee sessions.

Why can’t I leave the conference building on my own?

For your safety we cannot allow students to leave the conference building without your teacher/ faculty advisor present. If you need to leave, make sure you have your teacher/faculty advisor present.

How do I access the conference information?

The Linktree for OxfordMUN 2024 contains the links to all important information regarding the conference, including emergency contacts, rules of procedure, map of venue, and more. The Linktree can be accessed via our Instagram bio, or by scanning the QR Code for the Linktree. Once the Linktree is opened, you will see a series of links presented vertically that are organized into categories under four different headers. Under “Conference Materials” you will find open access permalinks to viewing the delegate handbook, conference schedule, exam schools venue layout, and our award policy. Under “Media Links” you will find the link to our blog, but our Instagram and Facebook profiles can be found by clicking the icons at the top of the Linktree page. Under the “Contact Details” you will find the link to our contacts sheet, which offers the emergency number for the United Kingdom, the emergency contact details for Oxford Global staff, and a general inquiries email for non-urgent questions or requests. Finally under the “FAQ and Feedback” header you will find the delegate feedback form - to be filled out after the conference - as well as the portal to our FAQ responses.

Why is there a no technology policy?

At OxfordMUN we believe everyone has a better MUN experience when we are actively engaging, listening, and discussing together, which is why we have a no technology policy. If you need materials with you during the conference, print them out in advance, but please don’t fell a whole forrest in the process! Be confident in your skills as a debater and negotiator and give it a go! We are sure you will enjoy it.

Where can I get food/snacks/drinks during the conference weekend?

We have secured a number of exclusive deals with oxford retailers to give you the best deals! Oxford street names such as Knoops, the spires cafe, the rose, and more. More information can be found in the delegate handbook.
