While philosophers have long discussed the extension of human rights to the socio-political sphere, the mission of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) is to strengthen the promotion and protection of human rights in the modern world. In adopting a resolution, delegates will lead the charge for human rights in the global sphere, setting the stage (and precedent) for further matters regarding these safeguards and issuing a political signal representative of the international community.

How big will this committee be? This will be a medium-sized committee.

How much experience do I need to sign up for this committee? This committee is designed for delegates who are familiar with the basics of MUN, but all skill levels are welcome. It’s an excellent choice for delegates who have some experience debating in pairs, and would like to try a single-delegation format discussing exciting and more generalised topics.

How much will I have to speak in this committee? Due to the medium size of this committee, delegates should expect to speak a moderate amount in each committee session. This committee is designed so that delegates can vary the amount of time they choose to speak based on how confident they feel and whether they want to step out of their comfort zone.

How will debate be structured in this committee? This committee will follow our standard Rules of Procedure.
